Our Work

The Sisters founded a community in Ireland in 1909.  Not only was the first School established, Drishane Convent, but because of the local situation, they also set up a saw mill, a brush factory and a knitting factory as well as running a farm!  This foundation became a great source of vocations especially for the mission in Asia.  No other house was founded in Ireland for many years.  Sisters went as missionaries especially to Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, Thailand and California.  In more recent years, many sisters returned to share their ‘missionary zeal’ with the sisters back home.

Today, Communities are to be found in Dublin, Ballymun, Portmarnock, Clontarf, Cork, Ballincollig, Mallow, Millstreet, Tralee and Dromcollagher.  Here the Sisters are involved in retirement ministry, chaplaincy in school, pastoral work in parishes, spiritual direction and retreat work, awareness raising in the field of ecology and care of the earth,  after school clubs, working with the ‘Travelling Community’ and many actions which promote the growth of justice and peace.
