Mass celebrated by Mgr Bouilleret, bishop of Amiens

In the Entrance Procession, 35 candles for the 350 years

On 23rd October 2011, a celebration took place in the parish of  Blessed Nicolas Barré at Sotteville-les-Rouen, France.

It was the tenth anniversary of the parish and the opening of the 350th anniversary of the first educational mission begun by Father Barré. In 1662, with the help of a few young women, he gathered together some poor children in a house in the town. This was the foundation of what was to become our Institute.

Pierre Grandry performs: "Nicolas, I have something to say to you"

The Eucharistic celebration, presided over by the Bishop of Amiens, a meal which gathered almost 300 people together, and a performance by Pierre Grandry about a meeting between a man of today and Nicolas Barré.

This performance entitled “I have something to tell you” will be repeated in several regions of France as well as other events to mark the year 2012 so as to commemorate and bring to life the original inspiration of our Institute.
