How can we not feel challenged when we reread the moving account in the Acts of the Apostles? Men, who have been released from their fears, dare to proclaim openly a message that they themselves had found so hard to believe! Was it only a few weeks previously that they were locked into their disappointment and despair? What had they experienced in the Upper Room with Mary for the powerful breath of God's Spirit to invade them? He swept away their fear, he pushed them out of their enclosure to meet the crowd, inspiring them with words that broke the boundaries of cultures and languages! Today, such an event would probably not make the headlines, nor be a buzz on social media! It would seem insignificant in the face of all that is threatening the planet... And yet it opened the door to the universal announcement of a way to salvation for the whole world!
