Today we celebrate the feast of St. Joseph. Other than the infancy narratives, very little is written about St. Joseph. He does not speak at all in the Gospels.
However, he is a man of action. He obeys the angel's command and takes Mary as his wife; he travels to Bethlehem for the census and he takes his family to safety in Egypt.
His generous, courageous and loving actions speak of his faith and hope. He is known for his discretion, gentleness, fidelity, humility, strength of character and his hidden life.
Nicolas Barré invites us to pray and to imitate St. Joseph who was a man of silence and of prayer.

God of all Creation,
May we follow the example of St. Joseph
and be always ready to put our faith into action.
