“Education in solidarity is one of the legacies that our sisters have left in our style of education”, says Faustino Diez, principal of the Infant Jesus School, in Burgos (Spain). The school has been supporting Sr Regina's projects in Sam Sam (Senegal) since 2015: the "clothing manufacture" and the "Restaurant and Hospitality". The aim of these activities for girls is to make them "responsible and free women who can take their destiny into their hands", explains Regina. Multiple solidarity actions were deploying such as the "Independent Women" festival in October 2017, equipment of the cabinetmaking in 2023, microcredits for the integration and self-employment of young cabinetmakers by Sam Sam in 2024-2025, with once again our students’ collaboration.
The collaboration in these campaigns has been memorable and we thank the efforts of parents, teachers, sisters, collaborators, the SUM group and the students. Today, any student or teacher knows how to account for the importance of solidarity education and the efficiency of these projects coordinated by Regina. After these years of programmed activities, they show the efficiency of the collaboration and direct support that we have been able to develop.
