Beautiful May...

May is the month of flowers, new life and  it is also the month of Mary, mother of Jesus and our mother too…

          As Pope Leo XIV marked the official beginning of his Petrine ministry, he invited all of us to entrust his ministry to the Blessed Virgin Mary under her title as ‘Star of the sea and Our Lady of Good Counsel’. He also implored her intercession for the gift of peace, support and comfort for those who suffer.

          Because of Mary’s own experience of life, she is able to identify with the joys and sorrows of life today

          Mary is the vulnerable, feeling, passionate woman who is the mother/sister to all women who suffer the pain of life and injustice in our world. Mary is a friend to all, she knows what they are going through and never ceases praying for them.

          Let us rejoice in the call and response of Mary, woman of faith.

Letter 12 from Nicolas Barré could sum up Mary’s attitude:

‘Lord, I want nothing more, I desire nothing more, only to be ready to desire what you desire and as you desire it’
