Being sent forth

Updated: Sep 20, 2022

Members of the Institute contemplate Christ and desire to follow Him... It is He who calls us and sends us forth to spread the Good News, especially to the poor and the “little ones” (BI 4).

Nicolas Barré reminds us that God is our all. ‘It is God alone who can satisfy us; God is our goal, the centre and object of all our motivations. We should devote our energies only to whatever will lead us in this direction’ (Letter 9).

God’s love penetrates and sustains every living being; the only thing we have to do is ‘to open our empty hearts and to let God be God, our Creator. We often limit His works and like to be in control! God waits for us to invite him into our lives: “I am standing at the door, knocking. If one of you hears me calling and opens the door, I will come in to share a meal at that person’s side” (Rev.3:20). What a lovely invitation!

Prayer: May the Spirit open our hearts to contemplate Jesus’ steps

in this world of chaos.

May the Spirit open our hearts ‘to be perpetual learners’

May the Spirit help us to go beyond our comfort zone and really

taste the Gospel of Jesus.
