On his deathbed, Nicolas Barré made this promise to the Institute: ‘I shall tell the Holy Spirit to always be its source and life.’
Mary never ceased to contemplate the action of God in herself and in her people. ‘…He has done great things for me…He puts down the mighty…He raises up the lowly. Lk 1:49
‘Do not worry if you lose the sense of God’s presence in the midst of your work. It is often necessary to give your time and attention to the needs of your neighbour, without diverting your thoughts to God. After all, it is God’s work you are engaged in and, even if you do not feel His presence, He is there, truly present.’ Letter 27
