The IJ Community is humbled by the recognition of the IJ Mission via the Inter-Religious Organisation (IRO) Award 2021, conferred to Sr Maria Lau for her significant contribution over 20 years with the IRO.
Congratulation Sr Maria on the various achievements and especially leading the Women of Faith initiative that culminated in the milestone launch of the the Women of Faith pocket booklet, which presents holy verses and religious quotes about women from the IRO’s 10 member religions. This group was formed in 2009 and seeks to bring women from different religious communities together to contribute to the common good.
She strongly believes in forging a unity of purpose in working for the common good with our diversity of gifts in fraternal friendship and solidarity with one another, building trusting relationships and the enabling of a true encounter between persons through the sharing of their daily life experiences and alternative faith perspectives.
