Sports, Creativity, and Solidarity in Malaysia

Recently, SMK Convent, Batu Pahat, one of our Infant Jesus Sisters' schools, successfully held the '2026 Convent Fun Run' and the 'Creativity and Entrepreneurship Carnival.' The event combined sports, creativity, and business experiences, not only promoting a healthy lifestyle culture but also providing students with a platform to showcase their talents and cultivate an entrepreneurial spirit. It received enthusiastic participation from teachers, students, parents, alumni, and members of the community.


The event took place on the morning of June 28, 2026, and was jointly organized by the SMK Convent, Batu Pahat Parents-Teachers Association (PIBG) and the Board of Government (LPS).

between the school, families, the community, and different sectors, while also raising funds for a comprehensive renovation of a building that had not been repainted in 35 years. Attendees included teachers, students, parents, alumni, local residents, and various supporting organizations, all participating in the fun run and creating a lively and joyful atmosphere on campus.

The guest of honor, Dato' Lim Cai Gui, Chairman of the Parents, Community, and Private Sector Involvement Organization (PIBKS) under the Batu Pahat District Education Department, said in his speech that such health-related events not only raise public awareness about healthy living but also help cultivate a positive and proactive mindset in students. He thanked the school, PIBG, LPS, the organizing committee, sponsors, and volunteers for their efforts in making the event a success.


Collaborative Education at the Heart of School Values

He emphasized that education requires the joint participation of the school, family, and society. Only through collaboration can a comprehensive learning environment be built, allowing students to develop leadership, teamwork, and life skills alongside academic learning. He donated all the medals and eco-friendly bags for participants to support the event.




SMK Convent, Batu Pahat Parents-Teachers Association Chairman, Encik Abdul Rashid bin Sahari, pointed out, 'The 2026 Convent Fun Run not only symbolizes a healthy journey but also exemplifies the spirit of the entire school community striving for excellence. Students learn perseverance, cooperation, and the courage to challenge themselves, values that will play an important role in their growth.'

The Principal, Lim Poh Lian, expressed her gratitude to all parents, teachers, alumni, businesses, sponsors, and community partners for their strong support. The active participation of all parties not only made the event more exciting but also

further strengthened the close connection between the school and the community. The school hopes that the '2026 Convent Fun Run' and 'Creativity and Entrepreneurship Carnival' will continue to become an annual school highlight, nurturing a new generation that is healthy, confident, creative, and competitive.
